Vlume, Inc. (“Vlume”, “Us”, “We”) values the privacy of its members, subscribers, publishers and others who visit and use Vlume Platforms (collectively “Users”, “You”).

By using any Vlume Platform, you expressly consent to the privacy policy details described in this document. Any personal information you provide through any Vlume Platform are subject at all time to this Privacy Notice and the Terms of Use. Terms and Privacy Policy for Vlume Platform apply to any site or mobile application owned and operated by Vlume, Inc, including www.vlume.com and the Vlume mobile application.

We reserve the right to change the provisions of this Policy at any time. We will do our best to alert you about any changes through the contact information available to us. We encourage you to review this Policy from time-to-time to make sure that you understand how any personal information you provide to us will be used.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

User-Provided Information: You may provide to us what is generally called “personally identifiable information” such as your name and email address when you regiter with the Service. You may also provide us your age, location, and gender information including during the creation of your profile. You can modify or delete this information any time through Vlume Platform. If you choose to authenticate using a Facebook account, we will collect only information that you make publicly available and provided to us by Facebook via the Facebook official APIs.

Cookies Information: When you visit www.vlume.com, we may send one or more cookies – a small text file containing a string of alphanumeric characters – to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser and lets Vlume enhance your navigation through the site. A cookie does not collect personal information about you. Vlume uses both session cookies and persistent cookies. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive after you close your browser. Persistent cookies may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the site. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your web browser’s directions. A session cookie is temporary and disappears after you close your browser. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Please review your web browser’s “Help” file to learn the proper way to modify your cookie settings. However, some features of the Service may not function properly if the ability to accept cookies is disabled.

Passively Collected Information: When you access any Vlume Platform or open one of our emails, we may automatically record certain tracking information on your usage. This information may include system identification Information (Internet Protocol address “IP Address”, a unique device or user ID, version of software installed, system type) and usage tracking Information (search query, date and time and content that you access on Vlume Platform). We treat this information as personal information if we combine it with or link it to any of the identifying information mentioned above. Otherwise, this information is used in the aggregate only (aggregated information does not identify you or any other user ). We use this information for calculating usage levels, diagnosing server problems, and administering the Services.

 HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use collected information in the following ways:

  • We use the information that you provide or that we collect to develop, operate, maintain and enhance the features and services provided by Vlume Platforms
  • We will use your contact information (e.g. email address) to send you updates about the Vlume Services and products, also to communicate with you about purchases or your account
  • We use collected information to understand your preferences and usage trands to improve the way Vlume Platform works and looks, and to acquire and offer you new and relevant content
  • We use collected information to investigate and prevent activities that are either illegal or violate our or other copyright policies

HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

Vlume will NOT rent or sell your personally identifiable information to others. Vlume may share your personally identifiable information with third parties solely for the purpose of providing services to you (credit card processing, secure authentication). We require that these parties process such information in compliance with this Privacy Notice for the use of your information.

Vlume may disclose aggregated information and other types of data points that do not include personally identifiable information to third parties for various marketing and other promotional uses. For example, Vlume may disclose aggregated reading interests to partnering publishers to assist them in understanding the readers and creating better content for them.

Vlume may disclose User information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws (such as U.S. Copyright law) or respond to a court order, judicial or other government subpoena, or warrant in the manner required by the requesting entity. Vlume also reserves the right to disclose User information to take precautions and as necessary, to investigate and defend Vlume’s integrity against third-party claims or allegations or to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Vlume and our Users.

YOUR CHOICES ABOUT INFORMATION SHARING

Vlume provides you with the ability to make certain choices related to our collection, use, and sharing of your information. These choices include:

  • You may edit or delete some of your personally identifying information in your user account
  • You may make choices regarding emails and alerts about your subscriptions and product updates
  • You can decline receiving offers and promotions from us

Although we will take all reasonable measures to protect your privacy and security, YOU are responsible for keeping your unique password and account information secret at all times.

YOUR REQUEST TO DELETE YOUR INFORMATION

Vlume provides you with the ability to permenantly delete your account through the settings page, which will automatically delete all information collected from your account. Steps are described on Support page.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Raising a generation of readers is our mission and hence protecting their privacy is a primary goal for us. Vlume does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register without their parent’s explicit permission. In the event that we learn that we have collected such information without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. We encourage parents to direct the use of Vlume platform with their children and monitor their activities on their devices. Permitted registration information is used to customize content to your child’s age and interests. We do not use or disclose this information for any other purposes except to provide you with quality service.

If you are the parent or legal guardian of a minor who has become Vlume member, then please contact us at info@vlume.com to have that minor’s account terminated and information deleted.

LINKS TO EXTERNAL SITES OR SERVICES

We are not responsible for the practices employed by Web sites or Applications linked to or from our Web site nor the information or content contained therein. When you use a link to go from our Web site to another Web site, our Privacy Policy is no longer in effect. Your browsing and interaction on any other Web site, including those that have a link on our Web site, is subject to that Web site’s own rules and policies.
